CHAPTER 19

Katie

I awoke to the soft sound of Luka snoring behind me. His arm was wrapped around my waist. There was a small streak of sunlight peeking between the heavy blackout curtains. I shifted my hips and tried to slide out from under his arm.

His arm tightened around my waist. He rasped against my neck as he pulled me closer, “Where do you think you’re going?”

I bit my lip. “I need to pee.”

He squeezed me for a moment and then let me go.

I slid out of the bed and ran naked into the bathroom.

I flipped on the faucet and ran the water full blast to cover the sound of me peeing. I then placed a washcloth under the tap and lifted it to my face. The soaked cloth cooled my heated cheeks. Pulling it down, I stared at my reflection. It took a moment for me to even recognize myself. My hair was a tangled riot of curls around my face. My eyes had a bright, almost feverish glow to them and my lips looked like I was trying to out-lip a Kardashian. They were still swollen and a deep dark pink from the blowjob I had given Luka last night. Although blowjob seems too tame of a word for what we did.

I still couldn’t believe what we did… what he did… what I did! It was all a blur of mouths and lips and other things. I pressed the cold cloth to my cheeks as they started to warm again.

It was okay.

Everything was okay.

I was just going to get dressed and leave here with as much dignity as I could muster. There was plenty of time to curl up in the fetal position under a mountain of covers and hash over all the humiliating things I actually enjoyed about last night.

I wrinkled my nose as I picked my dirty jeans off the floor. With a grimace, I slipped one leg in, then the other. Realizing I forgot my panties, I swiped them off the floor and shoved them into my pocket. I did the same with my bra before pulling the disgusting shirt I wore last night over my head. God, I hoped that nasty little busybody clerk wasn’t still manning the front desk when I did the walk of shame past him.

I took a deep breath and opened the bathroom door.

Luka was still in bed. He turned his head at the sound and frowned. He tossed the blankets off himself.

I held out my hands. “No need to get up. Sleep. I’m just going to see myself out.”

Without saying a word and uncaring that he was naked as a jaybird, he stormed toward me. He grabbed the shirt I had just put on and ripped it over my head.

“Hey!” I protested.

He picked me up around the waist and tossed me back onto the bed. He then grabbed my ankles and pulled the jeans off my legs. He gathered up both items and calmly walked over to the balcony door.

I sat up.
